About this screener — evidence, source, what inspired it
Developmental language disorder affects around 7% of children — about two in every classroom — and is far less often identified than autism or ADHD. This checklist separates speech-sound, expressive, receptive, pragmatic, and fluency concerns so the right referral can be made.
Evidence · unvalidated
This is an OpenScreener original instrument. Its thresholds are provisional, set by expert judgement rather than population norms, and have not yet been validated. Treat results as a structured record of concerns, not a score with known sensitivity or specificity.
