About this screener — evidence, source, what inspired it
Adaptive functioning — the conceptual, social, and practical skills of everyday life — is a core part of diagnosing intellectual disability and global developmental delay, and informs support needs in autism and other conditions. This checklist uses a peer-referenced rating so the same items work across a wide age range.
Evidence · unvalidated
This is an OpenScreener original instrument. Its thresholds are provisional, set by expert judgement rather than population norms, and have not yet been validated. Treat results as a structured record of concerns, not a score with known sensitivity or specificity.
